Happy Halloween!

Halloween is not a holiday here in Kuwait, nor our pumpkins something they have. So we made the best with what we have for this years jack-o-lanterns! 2 Oranges and 1 Honeydew melon. I don't think they came out to bad... (plus we had snacks and juice for tomorrow!).

Thats a first...

Two first happened in the last day. First last night london got to use scissors for the very first time, and I think did pretty good with them.

Second and this happened today- he made it to the top of the jungle gym all on his own. And boy was he proud.

Vroom Vroom

One thing that many people ask me is "what do you kids play with in the hotel?". Well I have to admit its made me more creative! But you would be surprised how easy everyday items can be used to entertain a child. My go to item... painter's tape. This stuff is amazing for traveling. Here is one of the examples of how I use it... I make race tracks! I also took one of the thick paper bags with handles that is in the room and cut up to make a little parking garage, ramp and car wash. I used the handles of the bag for the sponges. I normally let London decorate the outer part with crayons/markers but he didn't want to today so we have a little more bland of a look.
Thanks to the help of the kleenex box for the ramp support and a couple cars/trains we bring with us you have a car table that entertains for hours!

Window art

Before leaving the states I stocked up on some craft stuff to do while here. One of those things was Crayola Window Markers. I was worried when I first started because it was very light and clear, but as it dried the colors came out better and were easier to see. And boy do they dry fast on a window that has 100 degree heat on the other side. I checked already and it does wash off easily! So here is mine and london's halloween window decorations (me left, london right).

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling...

Jordan decided to start rolling tonight. And she will roll from front to back on both her right and left side.  And once she even did a full front to back to front roll she had so much momentum. Watch out london here she comes!

Our place

We were in a huge (like 1,000 sq ft) suite that was over $500 a night so we moved to a cheaper location in the same Hilton hotel but I actually like it more. Well I miss the jetted tub but this tub is still nice. Here are some pics of the place...its HUGE still.

Our bedroom-
The Living area (there is a dining room table on the front left here and those big glass windows are sliding doors to the patio)-
London's room-

Our bathroom (there is a second one with shower only).
Our FULL kitchen... I have an oven!
There is also roof access that has a grill up there.

ewwww

One of my geocaching challenges (another little fun project for geocachers---learn the lingo people because I'm loving this new hobby!) was to take a picture of the local species. Well here is a nice little group I found under a rock while geocaching yesterday by the towers....nice aren't they.

Kuwait Towers

Can't remember if I explained what Geocaching is in the past. Its basically a hightech treasure hunt for people of all ages. I search on geocaching.com to find coordinates for these little caches, put them in my phone or GPS and then go searching for them. Its a nice way to tour a new place since the locals who place them usually do so in a spot they like. So today we took the car and headed out. I found a few! Kuwait only has 17 caches that are not on a military base, so it will be pretty easy for me to get them all while here. I will not bother showing you all the caches I got today but one of them took us to the Kuwait towers so here is a picture of that :) We didn't go in today since we were just driving around getting a feel for the area, but we plan to!

Here fishy

The Hilton Resort we are staying at is AMAZING! Hands down the nicest place we have lived since being on the road. Its so kid friendly. One of london's favorite features is the huge fish tank near the restaurant we get breakfast at.

Our flight

Now that your back up to snuff with us lets at least start this trip off from the begining. There is a new policy at UOP that family doesn't get to travel with the employee in business class (at least they will not pay for it). As much as this does suck I can't complain TO much since they are still paying for us to get there. However lucky for us Troy make 1k status last year and so he gets 6 upgrades + a year. So for Jordan's first international flight (she was already on a plane for a quick tulsa, OK trip) we got all three of us upgraded to business. Poor troy missed out on having a nice peaceful trip alone up front. London got to try out his first pair of headphones for a special treat of watching tv....he watched Cars2 and LOVED it!

Whats up?

Well its been over a year since I posted last. A few things have changed.... we are now in Kuwait. We just got here yesterday. In august we had a baby girl we named Jordan Capri S. and is just as great of a little traveler as London. I can't say I will get a photo up daily because lets face it, 2 kids makes my day way more busy. However I know have a fancy iPhone so it should be easier than having to upload my photos from my camera disk via card reader to my computer. So for the most important thing that was missed.... here is miss Jordan Capri S. born on 8/10/11 wt 7 lbs 6oz and 20 in long. We are in love <3 As you can see she sleeps a ton. That last photo is the more recent one and she is a big smiley girl who loves to stick her tongue out at me.
